The founding congress Polish football clubs held in Warsaw on 20-21 December 1919, when the statute was developed in Poland's oldest sports association also adopted the name of the Polish Football Association. first Polish Championship in Football began in 1920, but due to the outbreak of the Russo-Polish War, failed to finish them. From 1925 to 1926 played for the first time in the history of the Polish Cup. The winners played in various districts advanced to the football games on the central stage. Clubs were not very interested in competing in the Polish Cup, because they were extra innings for them to absorb a lot of resources and energy. Priority and most important, and so remained for them the game for the Polish Championship. Therefore, the next game for the PP was played until 1951.
Football Association has now 16 regional Associations Football, more than 2 million players (about 550 thousand registered players) and more than 6.5 thousand registered football clubs.
